Tagalog Language
As a foreigner, you may not know that this language group exists. Well, Tagalog is an Austronesian language which is the first language by the ethnic Tagalog people. They make up a quarter of the population of the Philippines, and as a second language by the majority. Due to the prevalence of fluent English speakers among Philippine natives, many English words have found their way to the Tagalog language. More appropriately, Tagalog is the standard form, which is officially Filipino, the national language of the Philippines.
It is pretty familiar with other Philippine lingoes including Bikol languages, Ilocano, and Pangasinan. And it is more distant from other Austronesian languages such as the Formosan languages of Taiwan, Malay. This makes learning Tagalog fairly straightforward for English and Spanish speakers.
